ISRO Successfully Tests Fuel Cell Power System in Orbital Platform

The Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) recently achieved a milestone by conducting a successful test of a 100 W class Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel Cell based Power System (FCPS) in its orbital platform, POEM3, launched onboard PSLV-C58 on January 1, 2024.

Objective of the Experiment

  • The primary objective of the experiment was to evaluate the operation of Polymer Electrolyte Membrane Fuel cells in space.
  • Data collected during the test will aid in designing systems for future space missions.
