Recent RBI Committees/ Reports

  • Usha Thorat Committee: The RBI constituted an eight-member task force on offshore rupee markets, headed by former Deputy Governor Usha Thorat to look into issues related to the markets and recommend appropriate policy measures to ensure the stability of the external value of the rupee.
  • Jalan Committee Report: Central board of the RBI accepted Bimal Jalan committee’s recommendations and approved a surplus transfer of Rs 1.76 lakh crore to the government. The surplus capital transfer is expected to help the government meet fiscal deficit target as it will come as a windfall to the exchequer.
