  • The Peninsular Plateau lies to the south of the Great North Indian Plain and is spread over the entire Peninsular India with the narrow stretch of plain area along the Eastern and the Western coast of India.
  • It is the largest physiographic unit as far as the spread of geographical boundaries within India is concerned.
  • Geologically, it is an old landform. For example, The Aravallis is one of the oldest landforms of the world. It has undergone extensive erosion in the geological timescale. The average height of Peninsular Plateau varies from 600-900 metres.
