Renewable Energy Capacity Addition in 2021
On 11th April, 2022, the International Renewable Energy Agency (IRENA) released the ‘Renewable Capacity Statistics 2022’ according to which renewable energy continued to expand steadily and well above the long-term trend, with share in total capacity expansion reaching new record of 81% last year.

- Capacity Addition: Renewable energy has continued to grow and gain momentum despite global uncertainties.
- Global renewable generation capacity amounted to 3,064 gigawatt (GW) by the end of 2021, increasing the stock of renewable power by 9.1 per cent.
