Himalayan Blue Sheep
- Himalayan Blue Sheep were recently in news due to infection in their eyes owing to an “unknown virus” at the Gangotri National Park in Uttarkashi district of Uttarakhand.
- It is categorised as Least Concern by IUCN.
- Himalayan Bluesheep is known as Naur in Nepali in Nepal and Bharal in Hindi in India.
- It is a high mountain sheep which survives from 3500 meter to 6000 meter and have short and dense hair.
- They are active throughout the day, alternating between feeding and resting on the grassy mountain slopes. ....
