10th Agriculture Census

  • As per the Agriculture Census (reference year 2015-16) undertaken by Agriculture Ministry, more women are getting into farming in India, showing a rise in the percentage of female farmers.
  • The percentage of female operational land holders increased from 12.79% in 2010-11 to 13.87% in 2015-16. The corresponding figures are 10.36% and 11.57% in operated area
