Centre Launches e-Mobility Programme Giving impetus to the e-mobility ecosystem, including vehicle manufacturers, charging infrastructure companies, fleet operators and service providers, the Government launched the National E-Mobility Pro-gramme. |
Sailent Features The government's National Electric Mobility Mission Plan launched in 2013 aims at gradually ensuring a vehicle population of about 6-7 million electric and hybrid vehicles in India by 2020. The vision enunciated two years ago is for India to have 100 percent EVs by 2030. |
Key Info The e-mobility programme will be implemented by Energy Efficiency Services Limited (EESL) which will procure electric vehicles in bulk to ensure economies of scale. |
