Cryptosporidiosis
- On 15th May, 2024, the UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) reported 22 confirmed cases of cryptosporidiosis, a waterborne disease caused by the microscopic parasite cryptosporidium.
- Cryptosporidium, also known as Crypto, is part of the coccidia group of protozoa. These parasites can reproduce both asexually and sexually.
