Recent Developments

  • In 2022-23, India and Vietnam celebrated the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.
  • Foreign Minister of Vietnam attended the Special ASEAN-India Foreign Ministers’ Meeting held in New Delhi on 16-17 June, 2022, to mark the 30th Anniversary of ASEAN-India Dialogue Relations.
  • Earlier in December 2020, during the first ever India-Vietnam Virtual Summit, both countries adopted a historic “Joint Vision for Peace, Prosperity and People” to guide the future development of bilateral relations.
  • On the sidelines of the Virtual Summit, both countries also signed a Plan of Action for the period 2021-23 to implement the Joint Vision.
