Recent Developments
In January 2023, India’s External Affairs Minister visited Sri Lanka. The visit had three focus areas: reaffirmation of India's support for Sri Lanka’s economic recovery, an invitation to its President, and conveying India's expectations from Colombo.
- In 2022, India’s relations with Sri Lanka further strengthened in line with India’s ‘Neighbourhood First’ and SAGAR (Security and Growth for All in the Region) policies.
- During the External Affairs Minister’s visit to Sri Lanka in March 2022, key MoUs were signed. These include:
- Implementation of Sri Lanka Unique Digital Identity (SL-UDI) programme with India’s grant assistance;
- MoU for providing Maritime Rescue Coordination ....
