Prime Minister of India paid an official visit to Lumbini, Nepal, on 16 May, 2022, coinciding with the auspicious occasion of Buddha Purnima.
- The then Prime Minister of Nepal, Sher Bahadur Deuba visited India from 1-3 April, 2022.
- Both Prime Ministers held bilateral talks on 02 April, 2022, reviewing the full spectrum of the bilateral agenda covering political, economic, trade, energy, security and developmental issues.
- In recent times, India-assisted development projects in Nepal have achieved substantial progress.

- The foundation of relations between India and Nepal was laid with the India-Nepal Treaty of Peace and Friendship of 1950.
