Recent Developments
During 2022, bilateral relations were strengthened through regular high-level meetings. Prime Minister of India met the Iranian President in Samarkand on the side lines of the 22nd meeting of the Council of Heads of State of the Shanghai Cooperation Organisation (SCO) in September, 2022.
- Iranian Minister of Foreign Affairs visited India in June, 2022 and held delegation level talks with India’s External Affairs Minister. The two countries signed the Agreement on Mutual Legal Assistance on Civil and Commercial matters during the visit.
