Tight Oil
Also known as shale oil, shale-hosted oil or light tight oil, it is light crude oil contained in petroleum-bearing formations of low permeability, often shale or tight sandstone.

- Fracking can affect drinking water.Fracking liquids can leak into a community's groundwater either by accident or if they are incorrectly disposed of. If the fields are near groundwater reservoirs, the fracking fluid can be directly injected into drinking water.
