Tribute to M.S. Swaminathan
- A renowned scientist 'Moncombe Sambasivan (M.S.) Swaminathan, passed away on September 28, 2023 in Chennai at the age of 98. He known as the 'Father of the Indian Green Revolution'.
- He was born on August 7, 1925 in Kumbakonam, Tamil Nadu. He was widely influenced by the beliefs of Mahatma Gandhi and India's freedom struggle.
- He served as the Director of the Indian Agricultural Research Institute (IARI) from 1961 to 1972. Professor Swaminathan's leadership roles were instrumental in shaping India's agricultural landscape.
