11th Defence Technology and Trade Initiative
Recently, the 11th Defence Technology and Trade Initiative (DTTI) Group meeting between India and the United States was held virtually.
About DTTI
- Launch: The DTTI is a flexible mechanism that was launched in 2012.
- Aim: To bring sustained leadership focus to the bilateral defence trade relationship and create opportunities for co-production and co-development of defence equipment. It also aims to strengthen India’s defence industrial base, explore new areas of technological development and expand US-India business ties.
- Chair: The initiative is led by the Undersecretary of Defence for Acquisition and Sustainment from the United States and Secretary for Defence Production from India.
