Recommendations Related to Social capital
Although the current pandemic stands alone in recent history in terms of its geographic scope and impact on daily life, many of the same recommendations from previous crises likely hold true:
- Individuals, communities, and government institutions should focus on building and maintaining a variety of social ties during the present crisis. Social capital, of all forms, will increase adherence to, and improve the efficacy of, physical distancing and other protective behaviours.
