National Livestock Mission
Launched in 2014-15, National Livestock Mission(NLM) seeks to ensure quantitative and qualitative improvement in livestock production systems and capacity building of all stakeholders.
- The Mission is being implemented as a sub scheme of White Revolution - Rashtriya Pashudhan Vikas Yojana since April 2019.
Need
- Unorganized Sector: The sector is highly unorganized in nature.Especially women are involved in activities of livestock rearing and farming that usually takes place in their home's backyard.
- Providing Necessary Flexibility to States and UTs: One of the reasons for implementing NLM from scheme-mode to mission-mode is to provide the necessary flexibility to all States and UTs in ....
