Launched in 2014, the basic objective of National Ayush Mission(NAM)is to promote AYUSH medical systems across the country.
Need
- Reviving Traditional Medicine System: Ayurveda or ayurvedic medicines, are one of the oldest forms of treatment which traces its origin to India.However, over the years, traditional medicines lost out in popularity to the more modern forms of medicine.
- Alternate Health Care System: In spite of incredible advances in modern science, technology and allopathic medicine, government is still unable to provide quality healthcare to all. Traditional medicine is considered as a major healthcare provider around the globe particularly in rural and remote areas.
