Mission Indradhanush
Mission Indradhanush(MI) was launched by Government in December 2014 in order to reduce child mortality and morbidity across the country.
- To accelerate the process of immunization by covering 5% and more children every year, mission Indradhanush has been adopted to achieve target of full coverage by 2020.
Need
- Inefficacy of UIP: Despite being operational for over 30 years, Universal Immunisation Programme(UIP) has been able to fully immunize only 65% children (2013-14) in the first year of their life.
