Intensified Mission Indradhanush
It was launched in October 2017,to accelerate full immunization coverage to more than 90% by December 2018.
Need
- Attaining Goal of MI: Although Mission Indradhanush contributed to an increase in immunization, however, it was realized that though the pace on full immunization coverage has been increased with MI, progress is not uniform in all districts and certain areas, like urban slums are not getting the required focus. Further, this increase would not be sufficient to achieve full immunization coverage of more than 90% of new-borns by 2020 as aimed under Mission Indradhanush.
