Amit Chaudhary: Thanking you. It’s a great feeling indeed.

CSC: Who was your inspiration for becoming as PCS officer?

Amit Chaudhary: My chachaji inspired me since my childhood days. And the desire to serve the society had always been the carry force to accomplish my dream.

CSC: Whom do you give credit for your success?

AmitChaudhary: My family and friends have been the greatest support. Dr. S.S. Chaudhary of Vajirao& Reddy Institute guided me through out my journey.

CSC: What is the role of family and others (teacher, friends) in your preparation and success?

Amit Chaudhary: Family is the first support system during ups & downs of this journey, especially my father and my chachaji, some of my close friends also have been the stress busters.

CSC: What was your source of Preparation. Which Books, Magazines, News Papers and Online Sources were used by you during your preparation.

Amit Chaudhary: Civil Services Chronicle, The Hindu and frequent study from Insights of India. All conventional books like Lakshmi kant for polity, Spectrum for history, Khullar for Geography etc.

CSC: How did you manage your time in both prelims and mains examinations?

Amit Chaudhary: I believed the integrated preparation of both prelims and mains. And planned dedicated preparation with multiple revisions before each phase of exams.

CSC: Did you integrate your Prelims and Mains preparation or was it separate?

Amit Chaudhary: Mostly integrated.

CSC: Did you prepare notes? How helpful are the notes? What is your advice on notes-making?

Amit Chaudhary: Yes. I believe notes making helps immensely in cracking this exam. One can revise notes time and again easily.

CSC: Tell us something about preparation of essay paper.

Amit Chaudhary: Content for essay is prepared during the preparation of General studies. I wrote few essays on important issues just before the mains examination.

CSC: What was your style of writing in the exam? How was it distinct from the general writing style? How did you develop this writing style?

Amit Chaudhary: Proper structuring of answer with good introduction, precise body part and remedial conclusion by facts & figures, maps was my style of writing.

CSC: How did you prepare for interview?

Amit Chaudhary: I joined mock interview of Vajirao& Reddy institute. Interview tips by Dr. S.S. Chaudhary played major role.

CSC: Which type of questions were asked in interview? Did you answer all?

Amit Chaudhary: My interview was around situational questions and equal focus on current issues. Yes, except two factual questions, I answered all.

CSC: Was there any specific area they emphasised upon?

Amit Chaudhary: Current based questions were the emphasised area.

CSC: Importance of coaching in the preparation of exam.

Amit Chaudhary: Coaching helps in unidirectional study and prevents from getting lost in universe of study material available in the market.

CSC: What is the role of Civil Services Chronicle in your success ?

Amit Chaudhary: Civil Services Chronicle was of the great help in my preparation. It has good analysis of current issues.
