India & EU to Hold Strategic Foreign Policy Dialogue
- On 10th December 2024, India’s External Affairs Minister and EU High Representative agreed to hold the first-ever ministerial strategic foreign policy dialogue to address geopolitical challenges, including Chinese activities in the Indo-Pacific.
- The dialogue will explore cooperation on global security, trade, digital public infrastructure, and green transition.
- The initiative precedes the India-EU summit in New Delhi, aiming to strengthen ties in security, digital technologies, and trade.
- India-EU Trade and Technology Council (TTC) was established in February 2023. TTC has three working groups on strategic technologies, green energy, and trade.
- It facilitates exchange of critical technologies, including AI, quantum computing, and semiconductors.
