Open Network for Digital Commerce
- ONDC, an open-source network, facilitates transactions between buyers and sellers regardless of their respective e-commerce platform registrations.
- It is an initiative led by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) under the Ministry of Commerce and Industry.
Goals
- Promoting Open Networks: Encouraging open networks for digital exchange of goods and services across diverse sectors.
- Empowering Small Enterprises: Supporting micro, small, and medium enterprises, enabling their participation in online platforms and curbing digital monopolies.
Key Components
- ONDC comprises buyer-side and seller-side applications, allowing consumers to place orders and merchants to showcase listings.
- Additionally, logistics platforms handle the delivery aspect.
