Higher Education Financing Agency (HEFA)
- HEFA incorporated on 31 May 2017, is a joint venture of Ministry of Education, and Canara Bank with an agreed equity participation in the ratio of 90.91% and 9.09% respectively.
- It is registered under Section 8 [Not-for-profit] under the Companies Act 2013 and as a Union Government Company and as Non-deposit taking NBFC (NBFC-ND-Type II) with RBI.
- The Main objective of the Company is to finance the infrastructure (including equipment) needs of Higher Educational Institutions in India Viz., IITs, IIMs, IISCs, ISERs, NITs, AIIMs, etc.
