Bahamani Kingdom (1347-1527)

The founder of the Bahmani kingdom was Alauddin Bahman Shah also known as Hasan Gangu in 1347. Its capital was Gulbarga.

  • The most important rulers in the Bahamani kingdom were Alauddin Bahman Shah, Muhammad Shah I and Firoz Shah.
  • Ahmad Shah I who was called Wali (saint) on account of his association with Sufi saint Gesu Daraz, shifted the capital from Gulbarga to Bidar.
