EAM’s Official Visit Strengthens India-Sri Lanka Ties
India’s External Affairs Minister, Dr. S. Jaishankar, visited Sri Lanka on 20th June, 2024, marking his first official visit since his re-appointment and building on the recent visit of Sri Lankan President Ranil Wickremesinghe to India.
- During the visit, EAM Jaishankar met with President Wickremesinghe and Prime Minister Dinesh Gunawardena, as well as Foreign Minister M.U.M. Ali Sabry.
- The delegation discussed the comprehensive and people-centric nature of India-Sri Lanka development cooperation.
- President Wickremesinghe and EAM Jaishankar jointly handed over 48 houses under the Model Village Housing Project and 106 houses under Phase III of the Indian Housing Project.
