- Large Population & Technology Adoption: India has the second-largest population, behind China. In a few years, it is predicted to surpass China in this regard. Along with the growing population, technological advancements like automation and robotics are also reducing India's need for labour.
- Seasonal Demand in the Agriculture Sector: The agricultural sector employs more than 50% of the workforce. However, the majority of farmers rely on the monsoon for their crop production. Due to climate change and global warming, the monsoon is delayed or produces very little precipitation. As a result, both labour demand and production decline.
