Rationale/Causes
- Synchronization of Standard Developing Organizations (SDOs): The objective is to coordinate the standards adopted by the nation's numerous SDOs. Instead of having numerous agencies determine the norm, the goal is to create a single template.
- Obligation to a Foreign Country: India will benefit by realigning its standardisation processes in accordance with the WTO's technical trade barriers code of good practises (WTO-TBT). As a signatory to the WTO-Technical Barriers to Trade (WTO-TBT) Agreement, India is required to accept and abide by the Code of Good Practice for the Preparation, Adoption, and Application of Standards set forth in Annex 3 of ....
