Significance
- Trade and Economic Relations: The value of bilateral trade in goods and services in 2019 was US$ 146 billion. In 2020, the entire commerce in goods between the United States and India (exports plus imports) was roughly 2% of American trade in goods and about 12% of Indian trade. With inflows of USD 13.82 billion, the US overtook Mauritius as the second-largest source of foreign direct investment into India in 2020–21. US is one of the top 5 countries for foreign direct investment from India.
