Development of Storage Facilities
- On May 31, 2022, the Central Government had launched the most ambitious scheme in the agriculture sector; the scheme was named 'World’s Largest Grain Storage Scheme in the cooperative sector'.
- Under this scheme, Government's aim is to increase the country's storage capacity to 07 crore tons in the next 5 years.
- An inter-ministerial committee has been constituted under the leadership of the Union Minister for Cooperation to implement 'the world's largest grain storage scheme in the cooperative sector'.
- State Cooperative Development Committee (SCDC) at the State level and also District Cooperative Development Committee (DCDC) in each district of the States ....
