Asia-Pacific Struggles to Meet SDGs
A new report released on 15th February by the UNESCAP reveals that none of the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are on track in the Asia-Pacific region, indicating a significant delay in achieving these targets.
- Only 11% of the measurable SDG targets are on track, with the region projected to achieve just one-third of the required progress by 2030.
- Progress towards SDG 13, focusing on climate action, remains critically behind, with all its targets showing stagnation or regression.
- Twenty targets across fourteen SDGs have deteriorated since the baseline year of 2015, including those related to climate action.
