One Ocean Summit
Recently, France organised the One Ocean Summit (also called One Planet Summit for the Ocean) in cooperation with the United Nations and the World Bank.
- The goal of the summit was to raise the collective level of ambition of the international community on marine issues.
- It focussed on the protection of marine ecosystems and sustainable fisheries, the fight against pollution (especially plastic), climate change, and ocean governance.

- Maritime Civilization: India said it has always been a maritime civilization. Its ancient scriptures and literature talk about the gifts of the oceans including marine life.
