Different Vegetation Types in India and Key Species
Tropical Evergreen Forests
- Tropical evergreen woods can be found in areas with high annual precipitation of roughly 250 cm or more. They only have a short dry season each year. In these woodlands, the average yearly temperature is between 25°C and 27°C.
- Natural vegetation of this type can be found on the western slopes of the Western Ghats, Lakshadweep Island, Andaman & Nicobar Island, and India's North Eastern states.
- Key Flora and Fauna: Ebony, rosewood, mahogany, cinchona, rubber, bamboo, white cedar, laurel, aini, and telsur are some of the prominent tree species that occur in tropical evergreen vegetation. Elephants, deers, ....
