CMS (Convention on the Conservation of Migratory Species)

The Bonn Convention, often known as the CMS, aims to conserve terrestrial, aquatic, and avian migratory species across their entire range. It is an intergovernmental treaty involving the conservation of species and habitats on a worldwide scale, signed under the auspices of UNEP.

• CMS is the only international convention dedicated to the protection of migratory species, their habitats, and migration routes.
• The Indian government and the CMS signed the "Raptor MOU" on Migratory Birds of Prey Conservation in Africa and Eurasia. The MOU, however, is not legally binding.
