35th Foundation Day of Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh
- Northern States Mizoram and Arunachal Pradesh celebrate their Foundation Day on February 20, since 1987.
- On 21st February (1987) two new States of Mizoram, Arunachal Pradesh came into being as the 23rd and 24th states of the Indian Union respectively.
- Two northeastern states, Arunachal Pradesh and Mizoram are celebrated their statehood day on Saturday. Both states attained statehood on February 20, 1987 following the 53rd Amendment of the Indian Constitution in 1986.
- The mountainous frontier state of Arunachal Pradesh, sanskrit for ‘land of the rising sun’, is situated in the extreme northeastern part of the country.
