Second United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress (UNWGIC)
Recently, it was announced that the second United Nations World Geospatial Information Congress (UNWGIC) will be held in India in October 2022. The first UNWGIC was organized by China in October 2018.
- India will organize the event as a part of the "Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav” (Celebration of 75 years of Indian Independence).
- Theme: The core theme of the second UNWGIC will be ‘Geo-enabling the Global Village’.
- The event would show a glimpse of India’s evolving geospatial ecosystem.
