Role of Youth in the Era of Climate Change
The world watched over with rapt attention when ‘Greta Thunberg’, a sixteen-year-old environmentalist represented her generation at the UN Climate Action Summit, 2019 held in New York. She stressed on the world leaders to face the reality of ‘climate crisis’ at hand and highlighted their apathy towards the same. Back home she came into prominence, when she protested in front of the Swedish Parliament and sought to hold the politicians accountable for their lack of action on issues of climate change.
