Upliftment of Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups
A parliamentary standing committee has asked the Tribal Affairs Ministry to issue directions to all states and union territories for starting a special drive to provide caste certificates to all Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs).
Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups
- PVTGs constitute the most vulnerable section among tribals and inhabit isolated, remote and difficult areas in small and scattered hamlets/ habitats.
- There are 75 Particularly Vulnerable Tribal Groups (PVTGs) in India across 18 states and the Union territory of Andaman and Nicobar Islands.
