Catch the Rain Campaign Launched on World Water Day
On the occasion of World Water Day (March 22) , Prime Minister launched the Jal Shakti Abhiyan: Catch the Rain campaign.
Catch the Rain
- Catch the Rain is a Jan Andolan campaign which aims to take water conservation at the grass-roots level through people’s participation and intends to accelerate water conservation across the country.
- Its aim is to encourage all stakeholders to create rainwater harvesting structures(RWHS) suitable for the climatic conditions and subsoil strata to ensure proper storage of rainwater.
- Under this campaign, drives to make check dams, water harvesting pits, rooftop RWHS etc; removal of encroachments and de-silting of tanks to ....
