Italy joins BRI
- Italy joined the BRI by signing a non-binding agreement with China on 23 March 2019.
- Today BRI has expanded to over 80 countries, mostly least developed and developing economies. Italy is the first among the Group of Seven (G-7) industrialized countries to sign up to BRI (Belt and Road Initiative) which is claimed by China as a global infrastructure and development project.
