Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020
The Union cabinet on 29 January 2019 approved The Medical Termination of Pregnancy (Amendment) Bill, 2020 that proposes to permit the termination of pregnancy up to 24 weeks from the existing 20 weeks. It aims to expand access of women to safe and legal abortion services on therapeutic, eugenic, humanitarian or social grounds.
