President of India visits Croatia, Bolivia and Chile
Highlights of Croatia visit
- This is the first-ever visit of a head of state from India to Croatia.
- Croatia would assume European Union’s (EU) Presidency in the first half of 2020. Therefore, India seeks greater cooperation with Croatia, within the architecture of the EU, for finalizing a balanced India-EU Broad-based Trade and Investment Agreement.
- India and Croatia can collaborate on new sectors like pharma, waste management, infrastructure development, agriculture, biomedical research and start-ups.
- Croatia expressed support for UN reforms including permanent membership for India in an expanded and reformed UN Security Council (UNSC).
