India Tests ABHYAS
India’s state-run Defense Research and Development Organization (DRDO) has conducted tests of the “Abhyas” High-speed Expendable Aerial Target (HEAT) drone from Integrated Test Range (ITR) in Odisha.
Features of Abhyas
- Abhyas is a drone designed for autonomous flight with the help of an autopilot.
- The configuration of Abhyas is designed on an in-line small gas turbine engine and uses indigenously developed micro electro mechanical system (MEMS) based navigation system for its navigation and guidance.
