  • It traces the history of the animal from 1885 to 2016 by providing information from various sources on Ongole cattle.
  • Ongole cattle are indigenous to the Andhra region in the Prakasam District.
  • The breed is known for hardiness, disease resistance and capacity to thrive on scanty resources.
  • It has a great similarity with the Gaolao breed of Madhya Pradesh and also has a resemblance to the Bhagnari type of cattle in the north of India.
