BRICS Counter-Terrorism Strategy
- During the 12th BRICS Summit, on November 17, 2020, the member countries of BRICS have adopted Counter Terrorism Strategy.
- For the first time, the bloc of five emerging economies have approved a counter-terrorism strategy aimed at strengthening linkages on combatting terrorism and sharing of “timely” information.
- The summit was attended by Chinese President Xi Jinping, Brazilian President Jair Bolsonaro and South African President Cyril Ramaphosa, the Russian President Vladimir Putin and Prime Minister off India Naendra Modi.
- Russia has chaired the 7th BRICS summit. Earlier the meeting was to be held at St Petersburg in July 2020. However, it was postponed ....
