CARAT: Naval Exercise between Bangladesh and USA
- The USA and Bangladesh navies have conducted a joint naval exerciseCARAT (Cooperation Afloat Readiness and Training), which began on 4 November, 2020 to expand relationships and broaden maritime cooperation between the two nations.
- The exercise demonstrates US’s continuing commitment to work with the Bangladesh military to address shared maritime security concerns in the region & strengthen partnership to ensure a free & open Indo-Pacific region.
- Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the events of the exercise were planned to be carried out virtually, where the two countries will share best practices and conduct discussions.
