SAANS Campaign
- 'SAANS' (Social Awareness and Action to Neutralise Pneumonia Successfully) is a campaign initiated by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to reduce child mortality due to pneumonia.
- It has been launched in Gujarat, which stands 2nd among 37 states and union territories in the number of child deaths due to pneumonia, after Madhya Pradesh according to the (Health Management Information System) HMIS data for 2018-19.
- The government aims to achieve a target of reducing pneumonia deaths among children to less than three per 1000 live births by 2025.
