Sri Lankan President visits India
After being sworn in as the President recently, Gotabaya Rajpaksa accepted India’s invitation to visit India as his first foreign visit after holding office.
Highlights of the Visit
- Line of Credits: India extended $450 million and $50 million Line of Credit for infrastructure and developing counter-terrorism capabilities.
- Fishing Issue: Sri Lanka assured that issue of fishing community will be addressed and boats of Indian fishermen will be released.
- Housing Projects: India announced that under Indian Housing Project, 46,000 projects have been built in North and Eastern provinces of Sri Lanka.
