ISRO Develops Crew Module Design
ISRO has successfully developed a design for the crew module of the manned submersible vehicle which will explore the sea bed as part of a project under the Deep Ocean Mission.
The Crew Module
- The crew module is a key component of the manned submersible vehicle.
- It is a sphere shaped capsule, capable of carrying three crew members.
- The submersible vehicle can travel up to approximately 6,000 metres under the sea.
- ISRO and National Institute of Ocean Technology (NIOT, Chennai) have signed MoU to develop the module which is intended to be built using Titanium.
