- Lt Gen Manoj Mukund Naravane has been appointed as the Chief of Army Staff. He succeeded Gen. Bipin Rawat, who retired on the 31st December 2019.
General Bipin Rawat

- He will serve as CDS for three years and will head the Department of Military Affairs, a new department in the Defence Ministry.
